an ode to your eyebrows
most times: two horizontal buttresses,
arched and angled,
hanging above your heavy gaze and
sharpening it to a fine point to be hurled,
spear-like,
from the crenellated fortress of your mind.
sometimes: fuzzy caterpillars,
wiggling in agitation,
begging to be picked up and petted –
(perhaps against one’s better judgement)
ferocity, momentarily placated
